November is National Preemie Awareness Month and ANNA’S (www.annaspreemie.com), award winning preemie clothing manufacturer, has joined forces with the Colorado Springs chapter of the Ronald McDonald House and Memorial Hospital to help raise awareness of the staggering number of premature infant births.

Each day 1 in 8 babies is born prematurely. While research is aggressively ongoing, the causes of premature delivery cannot be specifically pinpointed.  The little known fact of prematurity is that it has no bias.  Prematurity transcends the bonds of race, socioeconomics, and health.  Simply put, prematurity is an Equal Opportunity issue, leaving vulnerable children and confused caregivers in its wake. 

 ANNA’S, in collaboration with the Ronald McDonald House and Memorial Hospital, is bringing awareness to Colorado Springs through the First Annual McCharity Drive.  The Drive focuses on collecting crafted items such booties, mitts, hats, and blankets from multiple sources in the community. Donations of items exclusively for the premature infant, such as bottles and  diapers are also being requested. Items will be wrapped into gift packages and donated to the Ronald McDonald House and Memorial Hospital for needy families that have had a premature baby.

Donations are being accepted through October 25, 2006. The following locations are accepting donations:
